Life on Planet MOM

Relationships. Such an integral part of who we become. When we enter life on Planet Mom, the look of our relationships — our community — changes. What they look like in our every day lives changes. We are now a mom, as well as a woman, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a wife. Relationships are where we experience the greatest joy, as well as the greatest pain. When we consider the most infludential experiences in our lives, the most often include some aspect of a relationship.
There is a reason for this: God values relationship. That is why he is the personal God that he is. He is not distant and uncaring. He wants to be involved in our lives. We are created to be in relationship with others, and with our ever loving God.
Our theme verse is in the 18th Chapter of Matthew, a discourse or long instruction by Jesus on how our relationships give depth to our lives through community. How to live in it. Well. Contendedly. Redemptively. Jesus describes how we are ultimately to be in relationship, in community with other people. Our theme verse is in the center of this teaching on community and relationships.
What does this mean? In context, this verse does refer to the gathering of Christians as a community as they seek God’s direction. But I think the verse is also the fulcru, or center, of the teaching Christ gives on community. It is an application of the importance of being in relationship, and the importance of God being the midst of true community. We are together with him in our midst. It is where we look at others through his eyes. Where we desire for others what God desires for them.
A community, humble, forgiving together with God in our midst, together in our new roles as moms, Together on Planet Mom.
